Kimi Räikkönen – “I’m sure we can make that last step”

Kobayashi confident of good result in Monaco

Two podiums in a row for you now; do you feel a win is around the corner?

Twice now we’ve come close and I’m sure we can make that last step. Unfortunately you’re not always going to be able to challenge for the win, and if you get the chance you have to take it because it’s not every race that you will have the opportunity to go for it. Hopefully we can keep doing what we’re doing now and eventually I’m sure things will go exactly right and we’ll be up there. So far we’ve made good progress and the car has been strong everywhere. The next race is a bit different – Monaco – and it’s hard to say how we’ll go there. The team has done a good job, but we still have work to do and things to improve. So far the season is going well; obviously we’re not 100% happy because we’re not winning just yet, but that’s normal and I’m pleased the team want to push even further.

Kimi Räikkönen – “I’m sure we can make that last step”

Sauber's Kamui Kobayashi is confident the team can get good results in next weekend's Monaco GP. The Japanese driver qualified 9th in Spain because of a hydraulic issue, but managed to finish fifth.

The latest updates in Spain was a definite step forward according to Kobayashi. "I think our car will be better in Monaco than it was last year because it has improved in slow corners," said Kobayashi.

Spanish GP

Sebastian VETTEL: Well, I think if you are competitive here I think it means that you have been previously. It's a track that we usually know quite a lot from winter testing, we have some data to compare to, so it's very familiar. But it doesn't mean if you are competitive here you are competitive everywhere. Equally, if you are not competitive here it doesn't mean you will never be competitive. I think it's similar to other tracks. Really, if you think which sector you're talking about, which speed range of the cars.

KR: The rules are different to a few years ago, and you don’t necessarily have to be on pole to win. We’ll try, but I can’t predict what will happen; it’s very difficult to say before the weekend starts. The teams are very close, so if everything goes smoothly then we can be right up there, but small difficulties in any area and you’re suddenly much further back. We will know for sure on Sunday. If we’re top that’s great; if we’re not then there’s still work to do. I think we have a good package and we have... More

Mercedes AMG GP CEO Nick Fry: I believe we can be consistently successful going forward.

“I really enjoyed driving here at Mugello again as it is a sensational track,” said Felipe

"I don't think we should have come here. It is not safe and wide enough. If you lose it, the walls are so close and you will smash into the tyres. It is not for Formula 1 and, if you lost the steering or the tyre pressure dropped or whatever, then it will be a big crash," Petrov said.

Eric Boullier on the Spanish GP - "I like the fact our drivers weren’t fully happy on the podium; they knew we could have won”

After a strong Bahrain Grand Prix with both drivers on the podium, Eric Boullier reflects on the result and looks ahead to what could be possible for the rest of the season&ldots; More...
