The Ferrari team
set the pace in the first pre-season testing at Valencia in Spain
this week with both drivers posting the best times on all three days.
The squad's team principal Stefano Domenicali has warned that their
performance is no indication of their competitiveness against their rivals.
The Red Bull
Racing team will only launch and debut its new car next Wednesday and
many believe that the team could surprise its rivals. Teams will
resume testing at Jerez on Wednesday.
Domenicali also
feels that some teams and in particular Mercedes GP has not yet
showed its true colours. "Maybe someone also wants to play hide
and seek and some still have to present their cars," he said.
"There is
still a lot of work to do to close the gap and there are still many
problems we have to solve. And then we don't know the petrol loads
the other cars had on board, so it's impossible to get a clear idea
of the relative strengths on the track," he said. |
