Nico Rosberg
drivers for the Mercedes GP team this season alongside seven times
world champion Michael Schumacher. Rosberg signed for the Brawn GP
team in the hopes that Mercedes will buy the team.
And not long after
that the announcement was made that Mercedes bought the team. Rosberg
was very excited, but many believe that when the announcement was
made that the team has signed Schumacher he was less excited.
Red Bull Racing's
Christian Horner says Rosberg had no choice in the matter and might
not be happy about the situation. "If you ask me, when Nico
signed his contract with Mercedes, the very last person he would have
expected to be his teammate was Michael Schumacher," he said.
But Rosberg has
played down the speculation and said he is no walk over. The team has
also made it clear that they won't have a number one unless one
driver has a better chance to win the title.
Mercedes
motorsport boss Norbert Haug has played down the claims made by
outsiders. "This is the usual theatre of Formula One. We all
laugh about it and Nico in particular," he said. |
