Formula One's
governing body the FIA will not publish the starting weights of cars
this year they announced on Friday. That means fans will net get an
idea of which engines are the most fuel efficient.
This year
refuelling is banned and there is no reason to publish them other
than to know which engines used less fuel. In the final version of
the 2010 F1 sporting regulations the rule to publish the weights were
removed.
The refuelling ban
will put more emphasis on tyre change times this season the FIA added
additional rules to prevent teams from using exotic pit machinery to
help improve times.
Regulation 23.1 c)
states: "Powered devices which assist in lifting any part of a
car are forbidden in the pit lane during a race." |
