Mercedes
motorsport boss Norbert Haug feels that even podiums in the early
part of the 2010 F1 season is unlikely. The German manufacturer
bought the championship winning Brawn GP team last year and has high
hopes of doing well this season.
They have also
signed seven times world champion Michael Schumacher to drive for
them, but Haug says the new W01 is not considered as the quickest
team at the moment.
Haug told a German
newspaper that podium will only become a possibility later in the
season. "In my opinion, we will not challenge for the podium in
the first few races, but we will definitely show up afterwards,"
he said.
Schumacher is
reportedly at his home in Switzerland and will be in Bahrain for the
Thursday press conference. |
