Coulthard admits his F1 career is over

08 March 2010 @ 09:10 GMT - Ian de Beer

Former F1 driver David Coulthard admits his F1 career is over and says he has no ambition to return to the sport. He currently works for the BBC as a television presenter and could return to racing in the German touring car series DTM.

The 38-year-old Scottish driver was replaced by Sebastian Vettel in 2009 at Red Bull Racing. "I think deep in my mind the desire is still there to race a Formula One car at the front," he told a German newspaper over the weekend.

He drove in almost 250 races which started back in 1994. "But in exactly the same way I can see the reality that I had a good and a long career. I had great opportunities but I don't have them anymore. And so I don't use up my energy thinking about non-existent options," said Coulthard.
