Red Bull Racing's
Christian Horner said last week that his team believe that McLaren's
rear wing might be illegal. The FIA's Charlie Whiting would have
inspected the wing on Friday, but could not due to travelling issues.
They will now look
at the outfit's rear wing at this weekend's Bahrain race. McLaren has
invited the FIA's technical chief Charlie Whiting to their factory
prior to the row about the rear wing.
McLaren has
already had correspondence with the FIA about the design and they
believe that it is legal. "The wing is different and innovative,
yes. But we have been in contact with Charlie over a period of
several months to check that it complies with regulations. We have
been assured that it does," said team boss Martin Whitmarsh. |
