Kamui Kobayashi
has his first full time drive in F1 this season with the Sauber team
and will drive alongside Pedro de la Rosa. The Japanese driver is
confident of the car's performance this season.
He says the outfit
is not surprised about the pace of the car and how good it is
compared to their rivals. Kobayashi got his big break last year when
he was called up to replaced the injured Timo Glock at Toyota.
He did a fantastic
job and as a result landed the driver with Sauber this season.
"We are not surprised about the pace that the car has and how
good it is compared to the others. We'll see in Bahrain. What makes
me confident is that we haven't struggled with anything in
particular," he said.
He had the
following to say about the pre-season testing: "Well, we have
been pretty good. The two Jerez weeks were not ideal, but it was the
same for everybody. The Barcelona test compensated a bit and we were
able to proceed with our programme," he said. |
