McLaren's former
test driver Pedro de la Rosa will drive for the Sauber team this
season and it leave the team without a primary test driver. Gary
Paffett will remain the outfit's secondary test driver, but he will
only available in the early part of the season.
When the DTM
series starts at the end of April he will not be available most of
the time. The outfit's team boss Martin Whitmarsh says the team needs
another driver. The team confirmed on Tuesday that Paffett will be
the primary reserve driver for the first four flyaway races. |

"Gary has
been on the team since 2006 and we value his dedication and technical
feedback. We need someone who's ready to step in if anything should
happen to prevent Jenson or Lewis from taking part in a Grand Prix
weekend," said Whitmarsh.
"We know from
working with Gary, and from watching his performances in other racing
categories, that he's ready and able to take on this
responsibility," he explained. |
